Automation/Controls Project Designer

Base Pay:                    $18-28 / hour

Prerequisites:              

3-5 years of experience as a detailed designer and draftsman - Graduation from a certified CAD training program at an accredited institution counts as one year of experience.
Experience designing electrical, instrumentation, and/or HVAC systems
Experience with Windows and supporting applications
Building Automation experience a plus
Extensive AutoCAD experience using previous and versions of AutoCAD and/or extensive Visio experience
Certificate of advanced technical training from Technical college or institute, or a minimum of associate’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
Must have excellent verbal/written command of the English language
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Primary Responsibilities:

    1. Work with design engineering to create drawings of control systems for network based building automation systems.
    2. Project designer will be responsible to transform initial rough product designs/conceptual concepts and layouts/existing mechanical and electrical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) into working documents.
    3. Ability to work both as a member of an integrated project team as well as an individual with minimal day-to-day supervision.
    4. Ability to perform design work with minimal engineering supervision,
    5. An excellent understanding of drawing production and coordination
    6. Ability to communicate technical information rapidly and efficiently through a variety of mediums to both technical and non-technical personnel and customers.
    7. Ability to create new drawings as well as modify existing drawings for control system design and implementation.
    8. Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
    9. Contact Vendors for outsourced materials (valves, pumps, etc.) for production of engineered project submittals
    10. Bill of materials and ordering for field installations to meet project schedules

**There will be an AutoCAD test for all candidates
